Kathryn Carr<br>(8/14/26-8/14/28)

Kathryn Carr has been a part of the JCS family as both an educator and a parent and is grateful to now serve the school as a board member. She currently homeschools her son, who is enrolled in his 3rd year at JCS. Kathryn brings more than a decade of experience in education, including five years teaching secondary mathematics at JCS Charter Schools. She holds a California Single Subject Credential in Secondary Mathematics and has also taught in private, public, and alternative school settings. She grew up in Oklahoma, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. As both a parent and an educator, Kathryn is passionate about preserving educational choice and stays informed about legislation and policies affecting charter schools in San Diego and throughout California. She hopes to bring a balanced and thoughtful voice to the school board—one that values strong academics, supports teachers, listens to parents, and keeps students at the center of every decision.
